Community Events
In addition to weekly newsletters and regular threads, I host events for the Life after Trauma community each month.
Monthly Creative Gatherings
Each month, we gather in community to share the ups and downs of our creative life. I first started hosting virtual gatherings as part of The Artist’s Way in early 2025.
Here’s a little of the backstory:
“I still think about our final virtual gathering [as part of The Artist’s Way]. It was a beautiful hour, rich with deep mutual support as we shared what the experience had meant to us. There were tears and laughter. There was cheering for progress, and witnessing stumbles. When I closed my computer, I lay on the couch and tried to absorb all that I’d heard. This experience changed lives. I can’t begin to tell you how meaningful it was to hear that. Creativity was a huge part of how I healed from trauma, and it was such a gift to be able to share that with this community. It was incredible to see how people showed up for each other - a group of strangers who met online, but could support each other through the ups and downs of a creative life. Lying on the couch that afternoon, I shed a few more tears of gratitude.
I knew I wasn’t done with this work. I knew I wanted to build on what we had co-created through The Artist’s Way, and to provide a space for folks to find community in their creativity. Creativity is often a solitary experience, but again and again, community was what people most appreciated about this experience. Many of us have been quietly toiling in our creative work for decades, hungry for a deeper sense of community and belonging. Creativity can be profoundly healing, but it can also be quite isolating. That’s something I’d like to bring to your creative life - the power of a kind-hearted, open, supportive community.”
Our Community Creative Gatherings are:
A rich, generative space designed to leave you feeling inspired to create in whatever way makes sense for you. Maybe you’ll return to an abandoned piece of writing. Maybe you’ll take 5 minutes to play with your watercolours. Maybe you’ll start knitting during your work meetings and make a beautiful scarf. This is a ‘choose your own adventure’ kind of creative community.
A space to chat about your stumbles, celebrate your wins and feel buoyed through every season of your creative life.
A space to share your creative ambitions (big and small) and to feel supported by others
A space to make friends and feel less alone in your creative life
Our Community Creative Gatherings are not:
A space to get personalised feedback on your work (I’d be happy to help with that, but in my experience, a group setting isn’t the best place for it.)
A space for 1:1 emotional support. This is a creative community, not a therapeutic one. You are very welcome to share honestly about your creative work which might reference your past experiences, but we won’t delve into our past traumas in our creative community. That allows us to co-create a community that feels safe for both me as the facilitator, and our broader community
Community Gatherings are free for paid subscribers to the Life after Trauma community1.

Trauma-informed yoga
We hosted our pilot yoga session in October 2025. You can watch the recording (for free!) here.
The feedback was very positive, and I’d love to make trauma-informed yoga classes a regular part of this community. I am applying for philanthropic funding which will hopefully help to make these offerings more accessible to those who need them.
